Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
SellAfrik (“we”, “us”) operates the Remote Job Blueprint platform at https://sellafrik.com. For privacy questions, contact us at support@sellafrik.com.
2. What we collect
When you create an account or buy the Blueprint, we collect:
- Account data: your name, email address, and a hashed (never plaintext) password.
- Region data: your approximate country, derived from your IP address, used to show prices in your local currency.
- Payment data: a record of your purchase (provider, reference, amount, currency, date). Card numbers are never stored on our servers; they are handled directly by Paystack and Flutterwave.
- Reading data: a count of your reader sessions and your reading position, used to power features like “resume where you left off” and bookmarks.
- Technical data: IP address and user agent for security (rate-limiting, fraud detection) and audit logs.
3. How we use it
- To deliver the product you paid for and grant access to the Blueprint.
- To send transactional emails: account verification, payment receipts, password resets.
- To prevent abuse: rate-limiting, blocking brute-force login attempts.
- To improve the platform (anonymous, aggregate analytics only).
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers.
4. Service providers we use
- Paystack and Flutterwave — to process payments. Their privacy policies apply to card data.
- Resend — to deliver transactional email.
- Our own server hosting provider for application and database hosting.
5. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in, and a small localStorage entry to remember that you’ve dismissed the cookie banner. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your rights
If you have an account with us, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold by signing in to your Account page.
- Update your name and email address from the same Account page.
- Delete your account at any time using the “Delete account” option on your Account page. This permanently removes your name, email, password, and reader state. We retain a redacted record of completed purchases as required by tax and accounting law.
If you are in the EU/UK and need to exercise GDPR rights (rectification, restriction, portability, objection), email support@sellafrik.com.
7. Data retention
Account and reader state data is retained while your account is active. Purchase records are retained for the period required by applicable tax law (typically 5–7 years). Security logs (login attempts, IP addresses) are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords (bcrypt), CSRF tokens, parameterised database queries, and rate-limiting on authentication endpoints. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect your account has been compromised, email support@sellafrik.com.
9. Children
Our service is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and notify active users by email.
